CNSS Indépendants: pension app for self-employed workers
Charbel Mehinto
Product Designer UI/UX

The problem
Self-employed workers (market traders, tailors, artisans) earn irregular income. Fixed monthly contributions and in-person paperwork keep them out of the pension system.

The solution
An app that follows the rhythm of daily earnings: contribute when you can, pause during a hard month, catch up later, and see your future pension down to the franc.

Key features
Pension simulator and detailed retirement account
Hard-month mode, contribution pause and catch-up
Mobile Money payments, downloadable certificates and statements
Back-office: contributors, reminders, field agents, pension settlement, collections

Design process
Four phases: discovery (interviews, audit of the current service), definition (user flows, information architecture), design (UI, design system, prototype) and delivery (landing page, specs).

Design choices
Petrol green #0F5C5C for trust and longevity, gold #C8963E for savings, ink #0B1A1A for text. Montserrat for headings, Inter for body text; charts limited to smooth curves and rings, contrast of at least 4.5:1 and 44 px touch targets.

Landing page
A landing page presents the offer, shows the app and the back-office, and drives downloads.

Deliverables
iOS and Android mobile app
Web back-office
Landing page
Design system, Behance presentation and LinkedIn carousel

My role
User research and personas, user flows, information architecture, high-fidelity UI design, design system and interactive prototype in Figma. Screens are produced with a custom TypeScript Figma plugin driven by a UI kit, with accessibility checks: 4.5:1 contrast, 44 px touch targets, errors never conveyed by colour alone.
Unofficial portfolio concept, not commissioned by the organisations mentioned.
